George Takei (1937) - He is 74 today. Best known for his role as Hikaru Sulu on Star Trek. He has won several awards and accolades in his work on human rights.

National Equal Pay Day - This was originated by the National Committee on Pay Equity in 1996 as a public awareness event to illustrate the gap between men's and women's wages.

4/20 - A counterculture holiday in which cannabis rights activists and smokers alike celebrate in their own ways. Either by just smoking or participating in rallies to try to legalize it.
