Idiot Drivers

Let me take some time to you talk about some of the idiot drivers that are out on the road. Back about a week ago there was a fairly bad rain and wind storm averaging over an inch an hour of very heavy rain with extremely strong winds. I am traveling home in the highway and that's when the close encounters of the idiot kind began.

Idiot #1: Billy Badass in his lifted Dodge truck with extremely over-sized tires felt as if he owned the road and was indestructible not only did he ride my ass until I moved over he needed to put the hammer down and top out his truck at over 100mph until his taillights vanished into the night up the road. I can understand wanting to get somewhere in a hurry but there is no real need to do that speed in that kind of weather (hard to see in front of you) and pass anything and everything just because you think you are the king of the road.

Idiot #2: Mini Van Stan in another Dodge vehicle. Not only was he also speeding at over 100 mph with what I hope would be an empty van and nobody besides him in it. He was speeding on at least two doughnut tires.  I really doubt any doughnut tire is Z rated for high speed nore able to tread out water properly. It is people like this who hydroplane over every lane of traffic and cause piles and or kill many people.

Idiot #3 Pick a lane Pete. This was probably the biggest idiot of them all, one who almost killed himself right in front of me.  I was getting off at the exit and they were too or so it seemed. They were kind of in between the exit lane and the travel lane. Mind you it is 1am so it is very dark and with the heavy rain you could barely see.  He continued on his route until about 20 feet from the exit sign almost plowing right into it before veering sharply back into the travel lane.

This was just a quick rant displaying some of the idiots out there. If you are one of these types of people SLOW DOWN. Getting there 1 minute earlier in a rain storm isn't worth it.

Food I Cook: Kielbasa & Beans -EASTER EDITION-

Well in the spirit of Easter I thought I would debut a new series "Food I Cook". In this series you will get to see what I personally cook. I will post all recipes as well as pictures. Most things will be easy to moderate difficulty. I am no professional chef but I do try so enjoy.

The first food will be Kielbasa & Beans, this is a very easy recipe and does not take long at all to cook.
Kielbasa is a very popular Easter food.

Ingredients:

-Beans (get as many cans as you'd like depending on how much you want to serve)

-Kielbasa (at least 1 big link)

How to make it:

Open package of Kielbasa.

Cut into desired sizes and put into a deep pot (if your not using a crock pot to warm up this dish)

Fry the pieces to desired color/crispness.

Open your can of beans.

Add beans to pot (or crock pot) with the meat.

Stir together and let it warm up over a medium-low heat.

Heat to a serving temperature, serve and enjoy! The beauty of this recipe is that everything is already pre-cooked (double check your kielbasa) so all you have to do is fry up the meat, add beans and warm.

This being said I will try to post a song of the day which I feel deserves a listen. Hopefully you enjoy my taste of music but that's just what it is MY taste. If you like you like it if not try back tomorrow, maybe I will turn you on to a new song or band.

My Short Lived Car Restoration Experience

Back about 4 years ago or more I had gone through a phase where I wanted to do a restoration on a car. I decided to look over auction sites daily and finally found a decent candidate from what the pictures led me to believe. The price had start at .01 so I could not pass up bidding on it, long story short, a few hundred bucks later I was the the new owner of a long neglected 1979 Z28 Camaro.

My first mistake was not looking at the car in person but when you're younger and have your mind set on something it does not really occur to you. My second mistake was buying a car that was not more intact then the one I had gotten. I go pick it up and bring it home and start to look it over. "This could work" I said to myself. I did not really care about the inside of the car at the time because I wanted to restore it into a drag car so all the inside was going to be stripped out anyways. The outside look what would be expected for 20 years of neglect and who cares if it did not have a motor I wanted to slap a big block in it!

The next day I start to tare into it, literally. The carpet was so bad I could rip it out easily with my hands. Out comes the carpet, seats and rest of the interior. Rust spots galore with some holes as well. Headliner comes out nothing but rot in the roof where the T-Tops were. Great now I would need a new roof. Taking it apart took place over the next couple days then it got put on back burner as I bought new tools and some literature on restoration.

Time passed it still sat on back burner, the job growing ever more difficult by the day. Having to find the missing parts to start the body work proved too much and too expensive. I cut my losses and labeled this car as a basket case. It would cost way to much to restore then it is worth and way too much time to do it. It was not a total loss I managed to part it out and now it sits again, a shadow of its former self. I hate to do it but there is one last thing I must do. If I don't find someone who wants it for any renaming parts or rear end it is going to the scrap yard, sad I know but not much else can be done with it.

What the car looked like in 1979. (Not the actual one I bought)

The car when I got it.

The craptastic interior.

The car as it sits today.

Rest In Peace.

Places I Eat. P.1

In a new series I will delve into places I have eaten at. These places will be not chain resturants (unless a crazy story happens at one) but they will be little to unknown places for most, holes in the wall if you will. Hopefully you food lovers will enjoy this series because its aimed at you! All locations are in USA unless otherwise noted.

First in this series we will visit Carl's Diner also know as The Oxford Diner.

Location: Oxford, MA
Price: Average
Serves: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Portions: HUGE

Carl's Diner is medium sized at best, most would call it "cozy". There are only two real places to sit, at the counter on stools or in the back room with maybe 5 booth style tables. If you go on a Friday or Saturday good luck finding a seat. The atmosphere is slightly loud seeing the place is smaller then most. All the help is very friendly. Overall the food is good, great prices and quick service you cannot go wrong.

Today I went for breakfast and this is what I got...

(Sorry ahead of time if the pictures are bad, I only had my cell and the lighting wasn't good)

Outside Views:

What I Ordered:
Pancakes with Bacon and a Coffee, Total: $8.50 (my friends order, a link kielbasa with homefries was in background he got pancakes, a coffee and OJ too. $10)

10 pieces of bacon...with some homefries hidden underneath.

5 plate sized pancakes (1 hidden at bottom) and slab of butter.

DONE. Missions accomplished.
